Connect your Shopify shop to Pricana: your variants with SKU, barcode, price, compare-at price, cost and stock read into your assortment, approved prices written back.

Pricana connects to your Shopify shop in one of two ways. Both read the same data and write the same prices; neither runs code in your shop.

With Pricana's app

In the portal, Assortment → Import and settings → Shop connection → Shopify, enter your shop's your-shop.myshopify.com address and click Connect with Shopify.
Shopify asks you to install Pricana's app and to allow it to read products and inventory and to set prices (read_products, write_products, read_inventory). Approve, and you come back to the portal, connected.

Opening Pricana from your Shopify admin (Apps → Pricana) brings you to the same page, with your shop filled in. Removing the app in Shopify disconnects it at once: Pricana forgets the access token. 48 hours later Shopify asks Pricana to delete the shop's data, and the products read from the shop are deleted.

With an access token of your own

If you'd rather not install an app from outside your shop:

In Shopify, Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps → Create an app.
Under Configuration, give its Admin API the scopes read_products, write_products and read_inventory; install it and copy the Admin API access token (shpat_…).
In the portal, Shop connection → Shopify → With an access token of your own: your shop's address and the token.

Pricana tries the token before it keeps it, and keeps it encrypted.

What Pricana reads

Each variant is a product of your assortment:

Variants without a SKU are skipped. The shop is read when you connect it and every six hours, and replaces file and feed imports.

Writing prices

Writing is off until an owner or admin turns it on (Write approved prices to the shop), and starts as a dry run that only says what would be written. Then Pricana writes approved prices every two minutes with Shopify's productVariantsBulkUpdate, never while the kill switch is on and never during the trial. Before each price it checks again that the shop still has the price the suggestion started from and that the new one is within the product's floor and maximum; if not, the suggestion is worked out anew.
