Limits and quotas
What your plan allows, how every answer tells you how much is left, and what happens at the limit.
Your plan sets how much you can read. The numbers per plan are on the pricing page; /plan returns yours,
with this month's use:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $PRICANA_KEY" https://pricana.io/api/v1/planThe limits
| Limit | What it limits | At the limit |
|---|---|---|
ratePerSecond | requests per second | 429, Retry-After |
apiCallsPerMonth | calls with API keys per calendar month (UTC) | 429 until the 1st, or billed (overage) |
exportRowsPerMonth | rows written by exports per month | the export ends at the limit, or billed (overage) |
datasets | how many of your datasets you can read | the others answer 402 |
historyDays | how far back history and the change feed reach | older entries aren't shown |
delayHours | data as of this many hours ago (Free: 24) | – |
changeFeed | /changes | 402 |
webhooks | webhooks | 402, paused |
users | people in your team (open invitations count) | 402 |
null means unlimited. Calls in the portal (signed in, in the browser) don't count against apiCallsPerMonth.
Headers on every answer
| Header | |
|---|---|
RateLimit-Limit | requests per second |
RateLimit-Remaining | requests left in this second |
RateLimit-Reset | seconds until it refills |
X-Quota-Limit | calls per month |
X-Quota-Remaining | calls left this month |
X-Quota-Reset | seconds until the month starts over |
X-Quota-Overage | true: this call is beyond the quota and billed |
Watch X-Quota-Remaining to slow down before you run out. The portal shows the month's use as bars, and your team's
owners, admins and billing contacts get an email at 80 % and at 100 % (they can turn it off in the portal's settings).
Overage
On paid plans, calls and export rows beyond the monthly quota don't fail: they are billed at the end of the month, per
1,000 calls and per 10,000 rows (X-Quota-Overage: true, X-Export-Overage: true), as the pricing page
says. During the trial there is no overage: calls beyond the quota get 429, and exports end at the limit.
Rather have a hard limit? Write to us and we switch overage off for your account: then your plan stops
at its quotas like Free (429, exports end at the limit), and nothing beyond them is billed.
Being a good client
- Read pages of up to 500 items, not one item at a time; use exports for everything.
- Sync with the change feed or webhooks instead of reading all items again.
- On
429, waitRetry-Afterseconds. On5xx, retry with growing pauses.
