How the check works
Pricana reads the listings of online shops in Germany and Austria that allow it, several times a day, and keeps every price change.
For each offer it takes the lowest price in Black Week, from the Monday before Black Friday to Cyber Monday, and compares it with the lowest price of the same offer in the 30 days before. That is the price EU rules want shown next to a reduction. Within 1 % counts as the same price.
Only offers that were listed for all of the 30 days count. “Raised first”: when the week began, the price was at least 10 % above its low of the 30 days before, and it came down in the week, but not below that low.
Categories come from Pricana’s product taxonomy. Only statistics are shown, from at least three shops, none of them with more than half of the offers: no single offer, no shop by name. Price comparison sites are not a source.
Price changes by API
The electronics and PC hardware datasets hold the offers of the shops that allow their resale, with their price history and a change feed.
