Quickstart
From a new account to your first data in five minutes.
1. Create an account
Sign up with your work email address, confirm it with the link we send, and set up your company. Every new account starts with a free trial of a paid plan (currently 14 days of Pro); no payment method is needed. To look at the data first, without an account, try the playground.
2. Pick a dataset
In the portal, open Datasets and add the datasets you want from the catalog. Each dataset collects listings of
one topic from several shops. Each dataset has an id; you will use it in requests.
3. Create an API key
Open API in the portal and create a key. Copy it right away: it is shown only once. Keep it in an environment variable, not in your code:
export PRICANA_KEY="prc_live_…"Live keys (prc_live_…) read your datasets; test keys (prc_test_…) read only the sample data, so you can build
against them first.
4. Your first request
List your datasets:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $PRICANA_KEY" https://pricana.io/api/v1/datasets[
{
"id": 12,
"name": "Laptops DACH",
"sites": 9,
"items": 18342,
"newestScrapeAt": "2026-10-07T09:12:00Z"
}
]Then read its items, cheapest first:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $PRICANA_KEY" \
"https://pricana.io/api/v1/items?sort=price&size=5"Add dataset=12 (your dataset's id) to read just that one. Each item has its price, currency, shop, category and,
where the shop names them, the product codes gtin, mpn and brand.
5. Next steps
- Keep a copy in sync with the change feed, or get changes pushed with webhooks.
- Narrow down with filters, compare shops with products.
- Try every endpoint in the API reference.
In Python:
import os, requests r = requests.get( "https://pricana.io/api/v1/items", params={"sort": "price", "size": 5}, headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['PRICANA_KEY']}"}, timeout=60, ) r.raise_for_status() for item in r.json()["content"]: print(item["price"], item["currency"], item["title"])
